MALIBU
VILLAGE France Malibu Village is situated in French Catalonia,
on the warm south coast, close to the Spanish border. The area is famous for
beautiful beaches, its proximity to the Pyrenees and delicious food influenced
by both French and Spanish cuisine. Within easy reach of the resort is the
historic town of Perpignan. Short excursions to local mountain villages are
most enjoyable, and a two hour drive brings you to the vibrant Spanish city of
Barcelona. To the east lies Montpellier a bustling city where you can stroll
through l'Ecusson, its historical centre and sit in one of the many
cafés on the famous Place de la Comédie. Sète, the
'Venice' of the south of France, and Nîmes, the Roman city and the
gateway to 'Provence' are also close by.
You can really find something
for all the family at Malibu. Parents might be interested in the local
vineyards, historical monuments (including castles and monasteries), or just
discovering some of the wonderful dishes typical of Catalonia. Teenagers will
no doubt flock to the beach, or take advantage of the many water sports on
offer by day, then party in any one of the hundreds of disco bars at night.
Children will probably prefer the toy museum, sea life aquarium, or a visit to
the local safari park, complete with a pride of lions! The local St. Nazaire
lake boasts many rare birds, including a large flock of flamingos. There are
numerous half-day or full-day excursions for all the family to the local
mountains, southbound along the coast to Spain, or to the historic fortress
city of Carcassonne. |
